Little Cowboys

Hudson was so excited for his first cousin/friend sleepover, where he wouldn't have to play dress-up, dolls or princesses. The little cowboy's played just that the whole night.

Both of my kids thought it was unfair that they had to sleep on the couch while William got to cuddle up to us in our bed. The kid is just so dang cute and cuddly!

We sure like him.

LOVE HIM

Hudson buddy, you made my day today when you ran up to me, gave me a hug, and said "Mom, you are my favorite thing in my whole life".

That just might make up for the last week of you being a terror.

And you, are my most favorite little boy in my life!

Even though, as I write this {supposed to be} cute post, you just told me you were going to poop and pee all over my magazine because I wouldn't let you look at it. Gross.

couldn't help myself

We have a rule around here, no decorating for Christmas until after Thanksgiving.

But while the Mr. was taking a nap yesterday, we just couldn't help oursleves.

Today I was inspired by this wonderful sister and friend of mine. I am not a great writer, as she is, in fact, I am a terrible writer. Which is why I usually let my words speak through the thousands of pictures I post. However, her words got me thinking today, so here goes....

This past little while I have thought so much about ME. I have been so absorbed in what makes me happy. I used to pride myself in always thinking about everyone else, but I can see that I have gotten off course. This is a sad thing. I want to be more like Miah's grandma who just passed away. What a life she lived. With 14 kids, she didn't have time to be selfish. She was up every morning before the rest of the house, everything organized, everything ready. She was an amazing woman who lived a life of quiet service. At her funeral, I found myself thinking; Do I serve enough? Do I care more about the comfort of other's than myself? Do I sleep on the floor when there aren't enough beds (sorry friends)? It is time for change! I want to rid myself of all selfish desires so I can become the person I want to be.

You must be the change you wish to see in the world. -- Mahatma Gandhi

Girls Trip '09

I really have been so blessed with amazing friends, and these girls are no exception. A few of our friends from High School made our way down to St. George for some good ol' girl time! We all love it, We all need it! This trip was entirely too short, but it sure was fun!
We missed all of you who couldn't join us this year.

Today, we miss...

Today, we miss these two love birds-

Good luck on the move....wish I were there to help. However, since I'm not, I'm sure things will go a lot smoother:)

Can't wait to come visit!!!

I hope to find this picture covering your whole wall at the new place. It's my favorite!

The Mr. was out of town last week so we kept ourselves busy trying to surprise him with this little gem.

Not entirely sure where the parental supervision was when they decided to paint each other's hair? Whoops!

And finally....our new chicken coop. Hooray to Afton and Hudson for sticking in there until it was done!

I loved spending the day with my little loves doing this project.
And can add it as a day to remember.

HUDSON

Name: Hudson
Age: 2 1/2
Eyes: blue
Favorite color: yellow
Hobbies: being destructive half the time and being so dang adorable the other half.

Hudder-bug here are just a few things that I love about you;

You can fall asleep in the most random places at the most random times. Most often the dinner table.

I love watching you chase kitty around the house, laughing hysterically all the while. Every time it is your turn to say the prayer, you get the "giggles". It makes me laugh:)

You love to wear your cowboy hat.

When you were younger you LOVED baths and would often get in before I had time to take your clothes off.

This one isn't my favorite, but you are the messiest kid on the planet. SERIOUSLY! You are always dirty. When you are done eating you just throw your bowl, cup, food or whatever is in front of you on the floor. We will continue to work on this for your future wife's sake.

You love bugs.....well, you love to kill bugs. Your sister loves to have bugs as pet's and you always stomp on them or smash them, which usually leaves her in tears. Here is a picture of you with some sort of bug smashed between the pliers.

You love to be outside riding your bike, running around naked or peeing on the trees. You are such a boy!

You love to have daddy set up the tent in the back yard and sleep in it with him.

You are ALL boy(however, you have been known to paint your nails and get into mom's lipstick from time to time.)

Your favorite sports are; baseball, soccer, basketball, and golf.

You love to sleep in your soccer jersey's but if you can't find one you will usually get a basketball or your baseball glove to sleep with.

You LOVE chasing the chickens. You and Afton will spend hours outside trying to catch them.

YOU LOVE, LOVE, LOVE FOOD!!!! Your definitely MY son.

Not sure how I feel about this one either, but you LOOOOOVE the ladies already! Especially this cute little Jennica. There have been many a nights where you will be crying "I want my Jenka" and will repeat this until you fall asleep. Not wanting anything to do with Mom or Dad.

You love to ride horses and wave at everyone. It scares me to death! No matter how many times I tell you to hold on with both hands, you think you have to wave as you pass by, or forget to hold on at all as you clap for yourself.
You sure are one handsome cowboy though!!!

Your new thing is roping everything in sight...your sister, the chickens, Afton's dolls and HORNETS to name a few. The hornets may not have been your best idea as it resulted in four unnecessary stings. knowing my adorable little boy, it won't stop you from trying it again. I really hope you will learn from your mistakes one day!

You love playing with your sister and before we even pull out of the school you are crying "I want my Afty".

When you get in trouble you make a sad face and quietly say " I'm mad at you" while you find a corner to go hide in.

Even though you are incredibly destructive, you are the most kissable little thing in the world. I seriously can't get enough of you!!!
xoxo, Mom
